Wildcat Hershey Park
In May 1996, Hershey Park added another wooden roller coaster to its ranks. This one was called Wildcat. It is located in the Midway section of the park.
Unlike the Comet, this was a pretty rough riding roller coaster. For some reason, the cars keep going side to side throughout the whole ride. I guess that’s maybe why the lines were never really long for this coaster.
The current Wildcat was based on a 1923 roller at Hershey Park bearing the same name. It was originally called the Joyride and was a wooden roller coaster. It lasted 22 years and was closed in 1945.
The old Wildcat was more of a out and back type roller coaster while the new one was only God knows. It whips and winds pretty hard in my book!
Unfortunately, the park announced that the Wildcat Hershey Park will be closed June 2022.
Word is that it will be redone as what they call an RMC coaster. Lots of youtube people have scouted the area for clues! Stand by Hershey Park Roller Coaster Fans!
